NixFrixShun(tm) aka "NFS"
Ladies and Gents the wait is over. NixFrixShun is a over-the-top quality chainlube which is VERY quiet, long lasting and will work very well in all conditions.
Not like other lubes where most of the bottle is filled with solvents, NFS is 100% product. Each bottle contains approximately 10,000 miles worth of bicycle chain lubrication.
Owing to my past employment history I've got deep knowledge with high tech industrial lubricants. That and the never ending quest to find something that will last one week of commutes in all weather and actually does the job has been frustrating at best.
NFS is a no holds barred chain lube that will last for extended periods of riding and does a terrific job of lubricating the chain.
Basic instructions for use:
1. With your chain in the big ring and the smallest cog apply 8 to 10 drops of NFS at random and run the chain backwards to distribute the lube. A very good method is the 12:12:12 method. follow the instructions for chain position than add 12 random drops, rotate the chain 12 times than wipe it with a clean cotton cloth for 12 seconds.
2. The cogs will do the job of distributing the lube. Once all the lube has been distributed to the chain wipe any excess OFF the cog/chainring AND chain.
3. Done!

long lasting with just minimal application. no gunk to clean up. I've tried others but will never use anything else. gets me through 60miles of glorious dirt and gravel with smooth shifting all the way. thank you NFS!

Best chain lubricant I have ever come across. Easy to apply and lasts long. Creates a smooth shifting a rotating function.

Our entire youth race team uses Nixfrixshun. It keeps all the bikes quite and smooth no matter the conditions, and it does not take so much lube as other brands.

I'm a user of NFS for quite a few years now. It is the simplest and more efficient lube I found.
I tried wax based stuff ; the process is tedious, and you have to be on top of maintenance to make everything's good.
Not so much with NFS. A quick go around with a rag, a few drops, and you're good for the next 400km - simple as that.
My go to chainlube for long-distance riding and commuting.

I am using the NFS for many years, I am riding long distance events of 100 to 1000 miles. NFS worked well
every time regardless of how much I rode in the rain.
I highly recommend the NFS, you won't be disappointment.

A few years ago, a friend gave me a thing of NFS chain lube, and he said, "it's half a bottle, but it should easily last you more than you think!"
I didn't doubt him, but I averaged around 10k miles/year then and said, "I'll report back."
That half bottle lasted much longer than I expected, not because I didn't use it enough, but because I didn't need to use it that often! This thing keeps on keeping on!
I loved it so much that I got another order of two bottles for my year-long cycling trip to Spain, Turkey, and the Middle East, but I wish I got more so I could gift it to others.
Hands down the best lube I have ever used in my 7 years of cycling and will be a permanent part of my cycling gear unless they come with an even better one, but I doubt it since they already got the best out there.

If you want a quiet drivetrain and want to extend the life of your chain and cassette then look no further. NFS is good stuff. Really good stuff. I use it on all my bikes...road, gravel and mountain bikes. It’s made a real difference in the performance of all my drivetrains which are primarily Campagnolo but also incl SRAM and Shimano. Super quiet and super smooth shifting. I HIGHLY recommend this product!

I used NFS for many years for MTB, CX, and gravel. I saw some new lubes out - especially a liquid from Silca. Tried it and just wasn't impressed, especially when conditions got wet. So I kept coming back to NFS and just replaced my lube supply for the new CX season. Baller lube!!

I’ve been using this chain lube since it hit the market some years ago. It works far better than any other lube, is easy to apply and a small bottle will easily last several years. Just a 10 drops on my chain every 3rd ride is all you need.
Dave Crook (Submitted on Sep 23rd 2022)
This lube is absolutely the best. Takes very little product to quiet the chain, and lasts a long time. It had an immediate effect on shifting, and smooth running.
Stephen (Submitted on Sep 7th 2022)
Only a small amount needed and it lasts much longer than other lubes. Also keeps the chain cleaner. Definitely the best lube out there.

I ride A TREK RAIL5 E bike. No Fri shun is my lube of choice. I’ve been riding for 76 years, and I’ve used every lube . Started as a kid with 3 in 1 oil, and now NFS. I love the stuff. A little goes a long way.

I bought some about a year before Covid hit. I'm not sure when I had my chain replaced, but it was probably shortly thereafter. I rode the bike a lot, outdoors, indoors, lots of miles... probably 10-15 thousand... maybe more over those 2 years. Obviously, chains were pretty hard to get during that time and shops were either shut down or slammed. I rode the living daylights out of that chain, applying 12 drops of NFS before and wiping it down after every ride. I just recently serviced the bike and had the chain replaced. The mechanic said that it barely showed wear. I gave him a half bottle of NFS and ordered more for me. This stuff is tops at drivetrain efficiency, but also reducing wear and tear. It's the best. I'm not switching.

Between some recent repairs and an application of NFS, I have gone from a very noisy ride to a smooth silent ride (minus heavy breathing). Wonderful product and would highly recommend.

I've been a Squirt addict for years. I ride a MTB and another one that I use to go to work. My biggest problem with Squirt was the manutention time, the way it disappears from the chain during rainy days and some stains of rust that could appear on the cassette or the chain.
I've applied a drop of NFS on every single link, then backpedaled 12 times with a rag and voila. The chain is really quiet and surprisingly very clean, even on (really) muddy days with my MTB.
The bottle is not that big but it should last a very long time (imagine with the 4 I've bought ^^).
Josh was super kind and the service is perfect. That's a shame this product is not sold by local shops here in France. It's way better than the majority of lubes !

Follow the instructions. You'll have the quietest, smoothest drivetrain in the peloton, no question.

I’ve used a LOT of different lubes and I’ve settled on Nix for all of my family bikes. It lasts a very long time so it’s great for these bikes because I rarely clean or maintain them. I can lube the chain and forget about it. Many of these bikes I only lube once a year. The durability of Nix is what makes it very cost effective.
steve sirico (Submitted on Mar 24th 2022)
I’ve been using bike lubes for 35 years and this is unquestionably the best. Easy application, easy clean up and the quietest running chains after application. Glad I found it.
L. Johnson (Submitted on Feb 2nd 2022)
I have tried many lubes on the market (and yes, on correctly cleaned chains)...even tried the dip wax, but that process is not practical, especially with 10 bikes to manage. I always come back to Tri-flow. But not this time. NFS is the cleanest, quietest, smoothest wet chain lube ever (if you follow the directions and use very little and wipe the chain off regularly). I get about 300 road miles before I need to re-lube, which is on par with other brands, but NFS is just better performing during those 300 miles.
Todd Schlemmer (Submitted on Dec 16th 2021)
I use this elixir on all my bike chains, 1000's of miles since last new chains. Still < 5% "stretch" And that makes all the drivey bits last longer! Poundwise!
Guy Ostermeyer (Submitted on Oct 3rd 2021)
Fast shipping. Best chain lube I have used. The drive train is very quiet now. Thank you.
john HAWKINS (Submitted on Sep 30th 2021)
Best chain oil I've ever used! Why? It collects much less dust on or off road (comparatively speaking), the chain rolls super smooth for several rides after application, and it's not too thin or heavy which keeps the drivetrain happy with consistently accurate gear shifts. I used Rock and Roll Gold and Finish Line Extreme for several years, but this stuff blows them away as they quickly collect dust and gunk up the drivetrain. Even after wiping the chain down after each ride this stuff keeps working. The inventor of this stuff hit it out of the park and should receive some kind of Nobel Peace prize or the top step on a podium!
Hamid A. (Submitted on Aug 24th 2021)
I use the NFS chain oil for many years. I ride an average 10000 miles a year. This product works great. It doesn't wash out with even heavy rain but I can clean my chain easily. I highly recommend this product.

Started using this lube in May and it is absolutely fantastic. Rode in some rainy conditions and I can not believe just how clean my chain, ring and cassette remained. This is my new lube. Buy it you will not be disappointed.

Riding on dirt roads, wet and mucky, my chain does not get all gummed up. My last bottle lasted over a year with lots of riding.

I'm in western Colorado. Super dry and dusty and I use this on my mountain bike as well as town bikes. After the initial application on every link, I do the 12-12-12 method weekly (8-10 hours riding.) I always wipe the chain off completely first, and the chain is somehow never black and greasy. Honestly the chain doesn't ever sound like it needs lube but I do it regularly anyway.
I know one isn't supposed to use "wet" lube in dusty conditions but it works better and lasts longer than anything else I've used. I guess since it's so thick nothing can penetrate it? Idk but I'm sticking with this stuff. In one year I've used about 1/4 of the bottle!
The only knock is it smells kind of like gear oil. Not a great smell, especially if you have to keep your bike indoors.
tony m (Submitted on May 24th 2021)
Pretty amazing stuff. Hard to believe that just a few drops a week (after initial treatment) keeps the chain as quiet as it does. I've even skipped weeks and still didn't notice any chain noise. Pretty pleased so far!

After 10 years of fixing bikes professionally I have yet to find a better chain lube.
andy frank (Submitted on Feb 8th 2021)
i have tried numerous other chain lubes and always ended up back with Tri-Flow for the quiet operation and smooth shifting. Tri-flow just makes for dirtier components and more time cleaning. NFS gives me the quiet operation, better shifting than Tri-Flow and much less mess. chain looks and stays much cleaner and that keeps cassette and chain rings much cleaner. definitely recommend this for road bikes in southern california.

Easy to apply and what a difference. Only waxing makes the chain run more smoothly, and who has the time?!?
John (Submitted on Nov 10th 2020)
Excellent chain lube. I have used this for over a year on 5 bikes totaling 12,000 miles. Still have 1/4 of a bottle left. Use as directed; wipe the chain and just a few drops before you ride. Does not disappoint.
Not only do they make a great product, they care about cycling. Went above and beyond to support a local NICA team. Bravo!

As a fixed gear commuter I put extra strain on the chain and drive train in general. So far Nix Frixshun has kept my chain clean and quiet. Riding in the rain and also dirty conditions has not effected the quietness of the chain etc.
Erik in Princeton (Submitted on Oct 11th 2020)
Honestly, I love a quiet riding bike. I used a version of this product years ago but went astray to a "dry" lube. Having just returned to the NFS line of products, I was amazed at the difference in how quiet my drivetrain is using NFS compared to what I was using. $15 for a bottle that will last you a very, very long time and you will have the smoothest and quietest drivetrain you have ever ridden. At least that is my experience.

I've used NFS for years, with a brief interlude with chain waxing. It didn't last long, back to NFS, easier to apply, quieter, better.

I started using NFS with a new chain on my gravelcross about 4K miles ago. I probably apply it too frequently, but every couple 100 miles or so, I give it a wipe and the ol' 12-drops. No measurable wear on my 11 speed chain (using Park CC-3.2) yet. I'm usually seeing significant wear at the 2K mile point. I am very clyde, and a bit of a masher, but I avoid cross-chaining, and, tho my bikes are usually dirty, I keep my chain and drive train clean. I've bought a bottle for a riding mate, and He likes it! Hey Mikey!
Eric Gottesman (Submitted on Aug 26th 2020)
NFS has been the best chain lube I've used (mechanic for over 20 years). True to description, it's silent and easy to use over the long term. Just keep a rag handy and follow the instructions. I never remove my chain for deep cleaning like I used to with other products. The wear life of my chains have been on the higher side as a bonus
Unknown (Submitted on Aug 14th 2020)
Followed directions for application. Very easy to do. Uses less than other lubricants I have used on my chain. After application, and rotating chain, I could see it spreading to other links in the chain.
I can see where there will be less mess and usage of this product versus other chain lubes.

I followed the 12:12:12 application instructions to apply the lube to my chain, and was somewhat skeptical that it was sufficiently lubricated but when I went out for a ride I was amazed at how smooth and quiet my drivetrain was!
Howie Rosen (Submitted on Jul 7th 2020)
I do not pretend to understand how this lube works, but it does work as implied. I'm an avid mountain biker for the past 25 years, worked as a bike mechanic for most of those years, and have tried almost every lube out there. It was always the same thing, lube to excess, wipe off excess, clean after rides and reapply. Lots of work. Now it's so easy with NFS. Just apply 12:12:12, and ride. I do wipe down the chain after each ride but all I get is a little dust on the rag. The entire drivetrain looks like new after 2500 miles of riding my new ebike this season. Every 300 or 400 miles I add three or four drops of lube for a refresh, but the drivetrain never makes noise or complains, like it used to with the other products I've used. My friends and I are sold. Thanks.

When your chain starts squeaking I wouldn't call that good lubrication, yet this is what I consistently get with many of the popular "clean" chain lubricants. Sure, you can lube your chain every 100 miles, which is about every 1.5 rides for our tandem. How well is it really lubricating when it fails so quickly? With NixFrixShun, I can lube our tandem's chain and it lasts a long time. We rode 900 miles down the Pacific coast, and I only needed to add more lube at the 800 mile point. It lasts a long, long time, and is well worth the cost!

The best chain lube I've used in more than 25 years. Lasts longer on the chain, holds up better under adverse conditions of Canadian winters and requires only a few drops per application. Developed by highly experienced cyclists, this stuff has a pedigree.

I’ve used NFS for 6 years,
(40,000 miles / 64,000 km)
In that time I’ve gone through just 2 small bottles.
( the 2 oz. / 59 milliliter size)
New chain: one tiny drop per roller
Maintenance: 12-12-12 method
12 drops, 12 crank turns to spread, 12 more to wipe
I do 12-12-12 every 200 miles / 322 km and the clean, silent, long lasting chains just keep on rolling on. …and on, and on.

I own 5 mountain bikes and 2 road bikes. I've used almost every chain lube there is. I've been using NFS for about 3 years and in my opinion it is one of the best chain lubes. It seems to last longer here in Southern California, where we have dry dusty trails in the summer and fall. The only drawback is you can not find it in most bike shops, I can only find it on-line. Not a deal breaker though.

I got my first bike in 1957 or ’58, a Hercules 3-speed stripped of its fenders and chain guard and tarted up with a rock-hard Italian leather saddle, toe clips and straps, and steel drop bars. I’ve owned a roadie style of bike ever since and believe me, I’ve tried a lot a chain lubes. Singer sewing machine oil, 3-in-one oil, 30wt motor oil, tri-flow, White Lightning wax base, WD-40, and more. I’ve been using NFS for maybe 12 or 15 years now and it’s great. It really does only need a quick wipe with a rag and then a few drops. It feels like no chain. (Insert Hincapie joke here.) Thanks.

I recently have been playing around with a variety of different lubes, looking for the perfect combination of cleanliness and efficiency. As many others have written here, I was a bit skeptical about how well this lube would perform, but I have truly been blown away. 12 drops is really all you need for a silent ride and it keeps the drivetrain super clean between scheduled cleanings. I would highly recommend.

In 35+ years of cycling, I've probably tried every chain lube known to man, from pricey LBS bottles to home brewed concoctions... Finally tried NFS and man oh man oh shevitz! This stuff is amazing!
The 2x11 drivetrain on my Trek FX always demanded a well lubed chain to shift well and stay quiet, and this NFS lube has worked wonders! I was skeptical of the application method vs. lubing every link, but it works perfectly. Sold!

I've been using this lube for 6 years and it's amazing. I literally use 4 drops every couple of rides. I take 30 seconds with a rag to wipe my chain and then add 4 drops of this stuff. It keeps my chain clean and smooth. Love it!
John Tonetti (Submitted on Aug 12th 2018)
I first purchased two bottles about 3 years ago, and I'm just now finishing up the last bottle. I have 4 bikes, and I find this to be the best lube I've ever used.
I apply according to directions... 12 drops, spin cranks 12x, wipe 12 times. The 12 drops go in random spots on the inside of the chain. I wipe the chain after every ride, too. Occasionally, if it's wet, I'll add 4 drops in random spots and wipe. I clean my drive train fairly regularly, and on those occasions, I reapply to the clean chain.
I've tried a lot of lubes, and this works the best for me in the wet climate in which I live.
Robby (Submitted on Aug 8th 2018)
Probably the 5th or 6th chain lube I've tried. Wow, no comparison. Smoothest shifting yet. Holds up really well. Super satisfied here.

I must admit when my best riding friend told me about this stuff I was VERY skeptical. I've been riding for years. I've done wax. I've done lubes. I've done all kinds of things. Then he came to me with this stuff. Told me all about it and how often (not much) you had to lube the chain and how little it took to do it. Then I tried it. He was right. NixFrixShun is right. It's really good stuff and it does everything they and my buddy stated it does.

I've been riding for 59 years now, perhaps 400,000 miles and this is just the best lube ever. In recent years have done most of my riding on bikes built in the 1950s and 1960s. Ride them with chainrings and freewheels that are still replaceable but each time one of those rings is used up that's one less ring on the planet. With NFS easily twice the mileage on the old parts. And all of those miles clean and quiet and smooth.

by far the best chain lube I have used. lasts through a ride of testing wet & muddy conditions, drive-train life has been extended, & doesn't seem to clump on the cassette the way other lubes do.
I need to buy more as I keep giving it away to others to experience!

I know that chain lube is a topic of near religious significance; right up there with chamois cream preference and ride food. That said, God hates a coward, so I'll just say it: NixFrixShun works better than any other chain lube I've tried (and I've tried nearly all of them). Easy to use; long-lasting; quiet drive-train; minimal "fling". And, brings back memories of childhood car wrenching every time I use it. What more could you ask for? :-)
Hoss (Submitted on Jul 14th 2017)
Just got this in the mail a couple days ago and have a few rides in now. Like other have said, this is the lube you want for your chain. It's viscosity is spot on, it does spread around the chain even though you only apply a few random drops and my drive train is looking very clean -- sounding very quiet. Great product!
Thomas Smith (Submitted on May 27th 2017)
Ridiculous, buy use it write the same review. No need to ever buy any other chain lube

I have been using NFS since its introduction on our family's five bikes. The bikes see all kind of conditions ranging from dry and dusty to wet and cold and the product holds up admirably well. It's almost too good to be true as a little really does go a long way compared to the previous product that I had been using...White Lightning. The chains are also easier to clean and I can attest to the fact that they are lasting longer with relatively little wear. I do use the product more frequently than suggested but I like to see a clean chain and I dislike hearing drivetrain noise. A win win for all.
Unknown (Submitted on Jan 24th 2017)
My chain is cleaner and quieter with less effort. When I clean my bike I strip the chain with Morgan Blue chain cleaner then apply NFS from scratch. After a few rides I wipe the chain with a cloth and apply a few drops. Easy.

Stuff is made of magical unicorn tears i swear. The most quiet i have ever heard my drivetrain. Be it wet roads, dry and dusty gravel, 60km or 100km rides...this just works. And a 30 second wipedown of the chain post ride when i hang the bike up is all it needs.

This lube is simply the best. Everything you've read is true. 10-12 drops will give you a gunk-free, quiet chain for 200+ miles. I've given this as gifts & always hear back how great this product is. A little goes a long way...I'm still on my first bottle & I ride over 5000 miles a year in rainy Seattle.

By far the greatest lube I ever used !
There are quite a lot of high-performance lubrication systems out there, but most of them require a complicated application process.
By constrast, NFS Ultimate Lube offers great lubrication, and is very easy to apply.
Clean your chain, apply a few drops, turn the cranks, wipe off the excess. And off you go.
Unknown (Submitted on Feb 20th 2016)
using NFS smooths the ride, stays clean and doesnt need frequent application.
win win win

Bought this for my cx bike and I have been riding in wet pavement and on ice and snow down to zero degrees in Northern Illinois. Ridden in some slop but not tons of mud. Staying clean. So put it on my road machine which I use on the trainer inside. Super quiet and smooth as compared to Rock N Roll. So I put on my gravel rig and will use it with my mountain bike. Weird to think I found an all season chain lube for different disciplines. The real test may come at a gravel metric I do at the end of February in Iowa. If it performs like it has so far we will have to change the rating scale, ha ha!

Lasts 150 miles or more, while only needing 6 drops per application. You can ride with it till you start hearing chain noise. Less lube used means a cleaner chain too.

Saw the initial launch of NFS over on V Salon. I have to admit I was a bit skeptical. I had been using Rock N Roll and T9 for quite a few years. They're good lubes but reapplication gets tedious and if it is wet you'll get one heck of a squeaky chain. With NFS apply 12 drops (drops mind you!) and pedal backwards, wipe excess and you're good to go rain or shine for 2-300 miles without reapplication. Pretty killer. Also NFS keeps the chain amazingly clean. While you can get cheaper stuff/more well known you'd be making a mistake. Buy NFS and spread the word about THE Chain Lube to use.

I was replacing chains every 1000 mi or risking freewheel replacement with every chain. With NFS I go to 2000 mi and get several chains changes per freewheel. And I love having a clean drivetrain all the time. A bottle seems to last forever.

Could tell the difference the first time I put this product on my chain. Everything got smother and slicker.

I tried NixFrixShun about a year ago after hearing about it from my cycling buddies (commuters and racers) in and around the DC area. As a bike enthusiast I'd been using Tri-Flow since I my BMX days in elementary school but I've now switched to NFS exclusively.

After 41 years of cycling this is the best chain lube I've ever used. Long lasting, doesn't wash off easily in rain and leaves the chain quiet, eerily quiet. Never used a lube that made the drivetrain so quiet. Great stuff.

You cannot get an easier drive train regimen then applying a few drops of NFS and wiping down the chain. My short term review is that it has helped quiet my drive train and make for smoother shifting. In the damp spring here in Buffalo, NY, NFS has been working great for me. Glad to have found a great product in this lube. Like others have noted, the guys making and promoting this product are good people. Thanks Josh!

Great lube that seems to run forever here in dry, dusty Colorado. The oil distributes itself very well, which is surprising given its viscosity. Yes, wiping the chain down is somewhat annoying, but depending on the conditions, you could probably get away with every few rides (hey, I'm a busy guy). This is my second order, the first of which lasted more than a year before a household move when my bottle misplaced itself. Overall great stuff, and even better customer service from NFS.

Been using NFS for about a year and a half...two bottle's worth. Works great, stays on, lasts forever. Coming off Triflow, this is a world of improvement. Thx Josh!

I followed the instructions on the website and used 8 drops for my tourer and 6 drops for my track bike. After a few rides on both I was convinced I'd never buy another brand of chain lube again.
I'm also a sucker for puns so 5 stars all around.
